A mystery of a set that seems to have original Brown Lacquer but the hardware is more than likely re-chromed. All paint on the 3 drums lines up to the same condition. The bass drum is the typical shell construction for the era but the toms are thin ply shells with no re rings likely made by Walberg & Auge. The assumption here is that the set is an early version of our modern "drum set" with toms that ludwig just did not produce at the time. This would explain the "rocket lugs" and difference in shell construct. This is all speculation and could be completely wrong so please, inspect the photos, ask questions, and observe the set for what it is!
