1950s A. Zildjian 22" "Hollow Block" Ride Cymbal
2590g
Large Stamp Type I – Hollow Block
Drilled for 7 rivets, none installed.
No cracks or keyholing.
Edges in good shape. One small ding.
Sounds like Questlove's towel-covered ride cymbal on D'Angelo's "Chicken Grease".
This cymbal is an enigma. Dead. Every hit is a wash of confusion and intrigue. Dark patina suggest smoke damage. Sounds like its covered in gaff tape – except it's not. Light with some bend when crashed.
This does not sound like a proper ride cymbal, but it's the perfect ride cymbal for someone out there. It's very weird and very fun to play. Go make records with this cymbal.
