1959-1966 K. Zildjian 21.5" Intermediate Stamp Ride
2106g
Drilled for 8 rivets. 1 brass rivet installed.
Welding repair done by Tom Foote of Buffalo Cymbalsmiths. This ride previously had a crack spanning 1/4th the bell circumference. Repair feels solid to touch, with no immediately definable alterations in the sound. Our knowledge on this type of crack repair is otherwise limited.
One small edge cutout, as shown in photos. Edge shows minor wear otherwise with a couple faint dimples, far too small to capture in photo.
Even golden-brown patina throughout. No keyholing in the bell. Ride feels in solid structural condition with no signs of new cracks forming.
An articulate ride sound that breaks up and grows increasingly complex the more you lay into it. A deep, earthy bell with nothing harsh going on. That beloved warm and smokey character. A lush, broad crash with just enough wash. One of those rides you just want to keep playing.
