The design of the Marshmallow bass drum beater stemmed from the desire to create a vintage-style beater that wasn’t overly dead sounding or feeling.  We wanted it to have articulation while maintaining that vintage sound.

AVAILABLE IN 3 SIZE OPTIONS

Small: Approximately 2.5oz; Available only in Red.

Standard: Approximately 3oz; Available in Natural or Black.

XL: Approximately 3.5oz; Available only in Natural.

The more weight, the more impact and volume, but less speed.

The Small Marshmallow is a little lightest of the three so it will be on the quicker side, similar to our HyperSphere. Being made of wool, you will get a lower volume while still enjoying the articulation of our other Marshmallows.

The Standard Marshmallow is a little lighter than an average beater.  The biggest thing drummers have noticed about the Standard Marshmallow, compared to other vintage-style beaters, is that you can actually play defined doubles with it, hence the articulation we were looking for.

The XL Marshmallow has a little more "beef" to it and weighs about the same as an average beater. Because of its size, it is a little slower than the Small and Standard Marshmallows.

Don’t let their fluffy appearances deceive you; the depth of sound you’ll get from these beaters will surprise you!

Unlike vintage style beaters that are fleece wrapped around a solid core, these beaters are 100% wool to the core. The wool is sourced from cruelty-free farmers here in the USA. They have a super soft feel which is perfect for that vintage sound. They are great for cajons too!

NOTE: The shape of the Marshmallow may not be perfectly round due to the fact that it's made from natural wool to its core and can get compressed during shipping, storage, or playing (over time).

Many times, you can simply "mold" it into a more rounded shape by compressing it with your hands, as if you are making a snowball.

If it gets more distorted than you prefer, you can saturate it with clean water and compress it tightly, squeezing out the water, with your hands as mentioned above.  You will need to allow several days for the beater to fully dry prior to using it again. Be sure to wipe the water off of the clips so they don't rust.
